On July 5, 2020, Ambassador of Ukraine Yevhen Mykytenko met with the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of the Arab Republic of Egypt Mr. Khaled El-Enani. The Minister thanked the Ukrainian side for fruitful cooperation in the tourism sector, in the spirit of mutual trust and partnership, and stressed that Egypt appreciates the fact that Ukrainian tourists became the first guests of Egyptian resorts after the resumption of international flights. Minister Kh. El-Enani assured that the tourist areas of the Red Sea coast in Egypt are safe, and that the Egyptian authorities are taking a set of measures to comply with all necessary sanitary norms in hotels and tourist resorts.

The meeting witnessed a fruitful discussion of the perspectives and ways to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation between Ukraine and Egypt in the tourism sector. In particular, the two sides touched upon the forthcoming official visit to Kyiv of the delegation of the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. The Minister said that the Egyptian side is studying the tourist potential of Ukraine, expecting an increase in the number of Egyptian tourists who want to visit Ukraine.
