Notary services
26 May 2020 12:00

The Consular Section of the Embassy of Ukraine in Egypt performs notarial services for Ukrainian and foreign citizens. We can only provide a very limited range of notarial and documentary services, which are Power of Attorney (POA), acknowledgment of applicant’s signatures, certification of translation and certification of true copies.

Notarial services are done in Ukrainian language only.

In most cases, the document will be processed the same day.

Please be aware that the consul may refuse any notarial service when:

– the document will be used in transactions that may be prohibited by Ukrainian law;

– the consular officer believes that the document will be used for a purpose that is unlawful, improper or inimical to the best interests of Ukraine;

– the applicant hasn’t submitted sufficient documents or proof for notarization.

Consular officers are prohibited from giving legal advice or acting as witnesses. If you are unsure of the legislative requirements relating to the notarial service you require, you should seek independent legal advice.

Fees paid for notarial services are non-refundable. Please note, that the consular officer does not take responsibility for the content of the document.

Please follow the link to see the consular fees for notarial services (link).

Power of Attorney (POA) is a written authorization to represent or act on another's behalf in private affairs, business, or some other legal matter.

Required documents:

  • Completed and signed application (form of the Application);

  • If the POA is “general“ or relates to property or a bank account, an additional form needs to be completed and signed (additional Application);

  • Document, with which the identification can be made (Passport and ID);

  • Any additional documents required for completing the POA.

The applicant should provide translations of a foreign language text. In order to certify the translation from Ukrainian to Arabic or vice versa, you should contact one of the translators, accredited in the Consular section. Follow the link to see their contacts (link)

Required documents:

  • Completed and signed application (form of the Application in English, in Arabic);

  • Document, with which the identification can be made (Passport and ID);

  • The original of the document, from which the translation was made.

We can certify true copies of documents. We can't tell you if you need a true copy certified. Ask the receiving authority if you need it. We don't certify or endorse the contents in your document. We only certify the copy is identical. Please note, that the consular officer may not certify passports an ID’s.
