Bilateral trade between Ukraine and the Republic of the Sudan
According to the State Customs Service of Ukraine, the volume of bilateral trade in goods between Ukraine and Sudan amounted to USD 0.423 million in 2024. 100% of the trade consisted of Ukrainian exports.
The key categories of Ukrainian exports included:
– sunflower oil – 61.2%;
– poultry meat and edible offal – 31%;
– electrodes and electrode wire – 6.6%.
Through the “Grain from Ukraine” humanitarian food programme, initiated by the President of Ukraine and supported by the UN World Food Programme, Ukraine delivered 14,600 tons of flour to Sudan in April 2024, aiming to assist 2 million people suffering from severe hunger and food insecurity caused by the world’s largest internal displacement crisis.
Earlier, in February 2024, Ukraine had sent the first shipment of aid to Sudan, which included 7,665 tons of flour to support 1 million people affected by the ongoing conflict in the region.
In total, Ukraine delivered 22,265 tons of flour to Sudan in 2024 under the “Grain from Ukraine” humanitarian initiative.
In the first three months of 2025, the volume of trade in goods between Ukraine and Sudan reached USD 0.579 million, with 100% consisting of Ukrainian exports.
Key export items included:
– sunflower oil – 78%;
– poultry meat and edible offal – 15.5%.
New items also appeared in the export structure:
– pharmaceutical products – 3%;
– medical supplies (such as catgut, reagents, dental filling materials, etc.) – 2%.
