Bilateral trade between Ukraine and the Republic of the Sudan 

Due to the armed aggression by the russian federation against Ukraine and the ongoing conflict in Sudan, the exchange of goods between two countries in 2023 have experienced a sharply decreasing growth rate.

According to the State Customs Service of Ukraine, in 2023 the total volume of bilateral trade in goods between Ukraine and the Republic of Sudan amounted to $ 6.476 million.

Ukrainian exports of goods to Sudan were $ 4.464 million. Main commodity exported by Ukraine to Sudan was sunflower oil (96% of total exports).

Ukrainian imports of goods from Sudan were $ 2.012 million.

The positive trade balance for Ukraine was $ 2.452 million.

From January to July of 2024, the total volume of bilateral trade in goods between Ukraine and Sudan amounted to $ 259 thousand, which mainly included the export of sunflower oil from Ukraine to Sudan. Information on the import of goods to Ukraine from Sudan during January-July 2024 has not been recorded.

Through the “Grain from Ukraine” humanitarian food programme launched by the President of Ukraine and supported by the UN World Food Program, Ukraine delivered 14,600 tons of flour to Soudan in April 2024 to aid 2 million people suffering from severe hunger and food shortages caused by the world's largest forced internal displacement crisis. Previously, in February 2024, Ukraine had sent the first batch of aid to Sudan, which included 7,665 tons of flour to support 1 million people affected by the conflict in the region. In total, Ukraine delivered 22,265 tons of flour to Sudan in 2024 within the framework of the "Grain from Ukraine" humanitarian initiative.
