Date of establishment of diplomatic relations with the ARE
The Arab Republic of Egypt officially recognized Ukraine’s independence by an appropriate statement from the Government in December 1991. Diplomatic relations were established on January 25, 1992 when Egyptian delegation headed by Vice Prime-Minister, State Minister for Planning K.El-Ghanzury visited Kyiv. Ukraine became among the first ex-USSR countries that hosted diplomatic mission from Egypt. First group of Egyptian diplomats arrived in Ukraine in May 1993. Ukrainian Embassy in Cairo was officially opened on September 1, 1993.
