Ukraine celebrates the Day of the Crimean Tatar flag

The flag of the Crimean Tatar people was first approved on the 1st National Congress (Qurultay) of the Crimean Tatar People in 1917 in Bakhchisarai.
After the restoration of Ukraine's independence in 1991, together with the return of the Crimean Tatars to their historical homeland in Crimea, the symbols of the Crimean Tatar people were also revived. Since 2010, the Crimean Tatar Flag Day has been celebrated in Ukraine annually on June 26.
