On January 9, 2023, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Egypt Mykola Nahornyi held a meeting with the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade of the ARE H.E. Dr. Ali El Moselhi.

During the meeting, the Egyptian government official emphasized, in particular, that official Cairo highly values Ukraine's role as a guarantor of the world food security and considers our state as its reliable and predictable partner.

Ukraine is one of the largest exporters of food to the Arab Republic of Egypt. The value of Ukrainian grain delivered to the ARE in 2021 amounted to almost 1.4 billion USD. With the start of functioning of the grain corridors within the Black Sea Grain Initiative in August 2022, 29 ships with domestic agricultural products left Ukraine for the ports of Egypt.
