In 2021, Ukraine celebrates Lesia Ukrainka's 150th birthday. Lesia Ukrainka (1871 – 1913) is one of Ukrainian literature's foremost writers, active political, civil, and feminist activist.

On February 26, 2021, within a series of international events dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Lesya Ukrainka, the Embassy of Ukraine in Cairo joined the Diplomatic and Scientific Marathon #Lesya_Unites_the_World!

Ambassador to Egypt Yevhen Mykytenko and Second Secretary of the Embassy Bohdan Horvat recited Arabic translations of Lesya Ukrainka's poems and told about her trips to Egypt in 1909-1913 as well as about the writer's impressions in the Land of Pyramids as reflected in her works and letters.
