On December 5, 2019, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Egypt Yevhen Mykytenko met with His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa Theodoros II at his residence in Cairo. He was also present during the evening prayer of the Patriarch.

The Ukrainian diplomat expressed sincere gratitude to His Beatitude for the recognition of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine by the Patriarchate of Alexandria.

Patriarch Theodoros II and the Ambassador discussed further steps that will help strengthen the relations between the two Churches and the fraternal relations of believers.
