Traditionally, the fourth year in a row, about fifty representatives of Ukrainian community in Egypt and their families, diplomats from the Embassy of Ukraine on February 23, on the eve of 148th anniversary from the birthday of a prominent Ukrainian writer and poetess Lesya Ukrainka, who visited Egypt three times at the beginning of the last century and wrote here a number of her well-known poems, put flowers to her bronze plaque placed by Ukrainians in world-famous Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
Representatives of Ukrainian community and diplomats recited poems by Lesya Ukrainka and extracts from her letters, filled with sincere admiration and warmth towards Egypt.
