On September 14, 2020,  the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in the Republic of the Sudan Musa Said was presented with the "Distinction Insignia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine" in the Embassy of Ukraine in Cairo for many years of his outstanding service in this position.

Ambassador Yevhen Mykytenko noted the significant contribution of Mr. M. Said to the development of friendly relations between the two countries in economic and trade areas as well as the humanitarian field and praised the efforts of the Honorary Consul in Khartoum to provide assistance to Ukrainian citizens in Sudan.

Musa Saeed was appointed Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Sudan in 2004. The Embassy of Ukraine in Khartoum has not been established yet. The Embassy of the Republic of the Sudan in Kyiv started its work in 2012. During the first half of 2020, the volume of trade in goods between Ukraine and Sudan reached 51.6 million USD. More than 1,000 students from Sudan study at Ukrainian universities.
