On November 14, 2020, Ambassador of Ukraine Yevhen Mykytenko attended a press conference held by Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Dr. Khaled Al-Anani at the feet of the Step Pyramid of Djoser at Saqqara. The event presented the recent discovery of over 100 coffins and 40 funerary statues at Saqqara necropolis.

During the press conference, Egyptian archaeologists opened a coffin with a well-preserved mummy wrapped in cloth inside and carried out X‐raying visualising the structures of the ancient mummy.

On the sidelines of the event, Yevhen Mykytenko held friendly talks with Dr. Mostafa Waziri, Secretary General of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities, and Ambassador Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs.
