To mark the 27^th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence and the centenary of restoration of Ukrainian statehood festive reception was held by the Embassy of Ukraine in Egypt on September 19 in Cairo.

Representatives of governmental institutions, in particular, Mr. Ali El-Sayed Mosselhi, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade of Egypt, deputies of the House of Representatives, members of “Egypt-Ukraine” parliamentary friendship group included, diplomats, representatives of political, business, scientific, cultural, media spheres,  Ukrainian citizens who live permanently or stay temporarily in Egypt took part in the event.

Mr.Hennadii Latii, Ambassador of Ukraine, in his welcome address reminded the guests about the inseparable link existing between the national liberation movement in the beginning and in the middle of the XX century, proclamation of Ukraine’s independence in 1991 and resolute opposing to Russian aggression since 2014. He stressed our state’s allegiance to ideals of freedom and democracy, its resoluteness in defending independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Mr.Hennadii Latii informed the audience about the main achievements and the nearest plans in Ukrainian-Egyptian bilateral relations. 

The guests of the reception applauded vigorously Ukrainian music group “Djerela” (“Springs”) which decorated the event by folk songs.
