Dear African colleagues and friends,
On behalf of the Embassy of Ukraine and on my own behalf please accept our sincerest congratulations on Africa Day, a holiday which is celebrated every year on the 25th of May and which symbolizes unity and mutual assistance among African nations, their victory in the difficult struggle for freedom and independence.
Being active participants of worldwide political, economic and humanitarian processes, African countries are moving resolutely along the path of socioeconomic and technological progress, are playing ever increasing role in dealing with current issues on the international agenda, are developing an effective system of crisis response, peacekeeping and post-conflict settlement, contribute greatly to promoting global stability and security.
Africa is efficiently overcoming numerous problems and has entered the path of sustainable development. Integration is developing and the role of sub-regional organizations is growing stronger.
This holiday is also a symbol of friendship and sympathy between the peoples of Ukraine and African countries. An important and integral part of Ukraine’s foreign policy is the development of political dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation with the African states in the trade, economic, scientific, technological and cultural fields. We are convinced that our close joint work will help us use the significant potential of our partnership more fully.
Ukraine attaches great importance to deepening comprehensive and mutually beneficial cooperation with African states in various spheres and promoting dialogue both bilaterally and on the international arena.
I am convinced that only through our joint efforts and effective cooperation within the UN and other international organizations can we successfully pursue the goals we have set and protect common security, political and economic interests.
Long live Ukrainian – African friendship and cooperation!
Hennadii Latii, Ambassador of Ukraine
