On January 9, 2012, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Arab Republic of Egypt Yevhen Kyrylenko held a meeting with the Minister of Justice of the Arab Republic of Egypt Adel Abdel Hamid Abdallah. During the meeting the sides discussed a number of important issues of bilateral interest.

In particular, the sides touched upon the issues of the further development of the legal base of bilateral relationship.

The interlocutors agreed upon the necessity of solving the problem of dual citizenship and discussed the mechanisms to prevent citizens of Ukraine from obtaining Egyptian citizenship without canceling the Ukrainian citizenship.

During the meeting the sides particularly discussed the issues of observing the rights of Ukrainian citizens in Egypt.
