The former President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko and his wife Kateryna Yushchenko on January 12-18 visited Cairo to take part in “Democratic security in the time of extremism and violence” international conference arranged by Azerbaijani Nizami Ganjavi International Center in collaboration with Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
In his speech during the event Viktor Yushchenko attached the main importance to the need of consolidating of international efforts to fight terrorism in Eastern Europe, which is supported by certain states. As an example he cited Russian aggression against Ukraine and temporary occupation by Russia of Ukrainian territory.
On January 14 Viktor Yushchenko together with 14 other former presidents and government officials was received by Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to discuss with him the main topics of the conference.
