During the meeting the sides discussed issues of the bilateral relations in political, trade and economic areas, as well as cooperation within the framework of the UN, including with regard to the membership of both states in the UN Security Council. The Parties also exchanged views on the developments in Middle East and Africa.

The political consultations co-chaired by the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr. Sergiy Kyslytsya and Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt Mr. Hossam Zaki were held on the same day.
