On April 9, 2012, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Arab Republic of Egypt Yevhen Kyrylenko held a meeting with the Minister of Justice of the Arab Republic of Egypt Adel Abdel Hamid Abdallah. During the meeting the sides discussed important issues of bilateral interest.

Special attention was devoted to the case of the citizen of Ukraine E.Chikosh, who was convicted by the Egyptian court to 25 years of imprisonment on falsified charges for weapon smuggling. The Ambassador informed the Egyptian side that Ukraine will be trying to achieve a retrial of this case, as well as requested the Minister for help and support in this issue.

During the meeting the sides also touched upon the issues of further development of the legal base of bilateral relationship.
